American Eagles Overlook is 1/2 an acre and
offers a Picnic Area. The park’s begins at 3rd & Diamond and continues
up Range View Road to the marked intersection. A ghost town of Independence
and then Altman can be overlooked by the park along its road. Displays of mining
equipment, a blacksmith shop and the grand American Eagles headframe offers
a glimpse into gold mining history.
Mueller State Park is located in the city
of Divide. The park anchors at the west side of Pikes Peak and extends over
5,000 acres across some of the most gorgeous land in the state. Visitors can
camp within the parks forested areas. The camping sites are equipped with
flush restrooms and a camper services building. Elk, black bear, eagles and
hawks provide a popular attraction for birdwatchers. Approximately, miles of
scenic trails can be explored by horseback or mountain biking. Other main attractions
offered at Mueller State Park are hiking, pond fishing, hunting, camping, horseback
riding, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and nature study.
